Silicon Valley Sheet Metal Fabricator Pulls into Trailer Market
Airtronics Metal Products obtains license to build light- medium-duty utility trailers
SAN JOSE, Calif., August 11, 2011- Airtronics Metal Products, a premier Silicon Valley sheet metal design, engineering and fabrication firm, today announced it has been granted a license to manufacture light- and medium-duty utility trailers.
An established supplier to the semiconductor and networking industries, Airtronics has expanded its engineering and manufacturing capabilities to serve customers in the architectural, medical and clean-tech industries, and most recently the growing mobile food market.
“In responding to orders for custom trailers for mobile food carts, we quickly realized we could achieve better quality by building our own trailers than by modifying existing trailers to meet customers’ specs,” said Airtronics President and CEO Jeff Burke. “In addition to trailers for the mobile food market, we are now licensed to build specialty trailers for a variety of uses.”
The company is currently accepting orders for specialty mobile food trailers and other custom light- to medium-duty trailers. Airtronics’ expertise includes custom trailer design and engineering, as well as manufacturing trailers to customers’ exact specifications. All work is performed at the company’s 100,000-square-foot modern, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in San Jose. Manufacturing capabilities include quick-turn prototyping, machining, CNC punching, laser cutting, forming, welding, painting, silk-screening, hardware installation, and final assembly.
In addition to becoming a licensed trailer manufacturer, Airtronics has joined the National Association of Trailer Manufacturers (NATM), an organization dedicated to promoting safety and quality in the trailer manufacturing industry. NATM’s member companies manufacture trailers for transporting a variety of items, including motorcycles, livestock, boats, snowmobiles, landscaping equipment, power generators and many specialty items.
